This parody confirms one thing: I am an Applebee’s addict*

*And I’m not alone.

This light-hearted portrayal of an Applebee’s fanatic working off of Sam Smith’s top selling song, “Stay with Me” is hilarious. I do wonder though if it is telling that I can relate to every word both spoken and sung. And I mean every word.

How can you not be seduced by Applebee’s 2 for $20 menu? (Maybe confused because the 2 for $20 offer actually entitle you to one appetizer and two entrees which I believe still equals three, but I digress.) Also keep in mind, that you can NOT “just order one item.” It’s nearly impossible. I have tried. There is no way to refuse the spinach & artichoke dip. And believe me you–even at 1390 calories a serving, it is simply not enough.

Luckily, the closest Applebee’s to me is 18.6 miles away. Yes I did check. Another good thing is that their wine list is. Well. How can I say this? Kindly? Lacking. Hardly a draw for any Brand Girl. I’m not even going to address the fact that the nationwide chain continually struggles with the concept of medium-rare, and that I continue to order the steak as I remain an optimist (and when fast-fooding–a carnivore). I’m mostly grateful that my cravings for anything smothered in cheese, chocolate or trans fats only sets in when carousing with the family back East which, is why I blame them for this unwelcome addiction.

And yes. I will take me a brownie dessert to go.
